Documenting a building site has to be one of the most tedious and time consuming tasks of any architectural project.  Surveys, photos, reports, visits – an incredible amount of effort is required to accurately understand the site before any actual building design can start.  Which is why Microsoft’s new Photosynth is so exciting.  The software almost magically organizes any collection of photographs into a genuine 3-d data environment. No fuss. No muss.  Its really pretty amazing – taking the world’s boring vacation photos and creating a constantly updated virtual model of the entire globe.
