Modern Architecture and Design

Contributors

Archiblog is thrown together by several members of the Diseño Earle & Modern Design team. As you’ve all been asking and are dying to know, here’s a bit about them:

TOM MELVILLE < tom
Tom is an award winning architect and designer, most recently from Boston, Massachusetts. He loves works of truth, originality and integrity of all kinds. His designs assume an uncompromising faith in facts and function as a generator of architectural space.

He has little patience for superstition, mimicry, or cowardice and is bored to tears by questions of architectural “style”. He embraces digital design tools as a means of developing and testing new spaces and forms.

ED GRAY < ed
Ed is a graphic designer hailing from London, England. He moved to web design several years ago and hasn’t looked back since. He started out as a lowly Mac Operator and worked in print for many years, for both newspapers and magazines and eventually taught a few unlucky individuals graphic design. Now he relishes in the challenge of the semantic web.

He loves good design and believes that all beauty in the world comes from function: if it doesn’t work, it’s inherently ugly. Most evenings he can be found playing the blues on his trusty Martin guitar and annoying his cats.

TRISHA MILLER < trisha
Trisha Miller moved to Spain 6 years ago from Boston where she had been a nurse and freelance photographer. While in Spain she has become more involved with digital photography and graphic design and is now the Managing Director for Modern Design Magazine. She is intrigued by how people interpret their own lives as boring and ritualistic and uses her photography to express and capture the vitality of everyday streetlife otherwise seen as mundane.

MEAGAN MELVILLE < meagan
Meagan Melville works at Modern Design Magazine. She is a native of the city of Boston in the United States. She enjoys contributing to the blog, because it helps keep in touch with Architecture.

DAVE VICKERS < dave
Dave Vickers is a seldom present features writer at Modern Design. He leads a strange kind of double professional lifestyle, and when not contributing his prolific pun flavoured ramblings to the magazine (that to be honest just make everyone groan in despair) he does other stuff that will perhaps one day mount to something. In his spare time Dave pretends not to drink much and avoids dancing at all costs – freedom in choreographic expression making him feel a bit exposed. To help practice what he writes about, he occasionally cycles to work, reducing his immediate carbon footprint and allowing him to wear body hugging Lycra, his favourite material by far.
